Session Types

Because we honor your uniqueness, The Runaway Fork offers services in a variety of formats to support your distinct needs and preferences. You can choose the session type that fits your personal lifestyle and goals best.

ATTUNEMENT OF BRAIN AND BODY

Improve your connection to your body by attuning to your inner signals and honoring them with satisfying food choices and experiences. Learn to remove obstacles from your belief systems, thoughts, and food habits. Begin to replace your chaotic eating style with a new internal system that helps you evaluate your food choices and organize your eating in a peaceful way.

EMBRACE A JOURNEY OF DISCOVERY

As with any journey, twists and turns are always part of the process to finding your way. We embrace this process of “detours” and “dead ends” as opportunities to learn and discover something new about ourselves. There are no wrong turns here. Nothing is “pass/fail” as in typical weight loss programs. Instead, we gain insight and awareness at every turn.

Hi, I’m Michele, Licensed Mental Health Counselor and owner of The Runaway Fork.

My mission is to end your unnecessary suffering with food, body, and weight so you can become the person you are truly meant to be. When you become your most authentic self and have all your energies available to you, then you can start to make the world a better place. It’s time. The world needs you.

FORM A THERAPEUTIC ALLIANCE

We each bring our own expertise to the table as equal partners in this life changing process. Although I contribute the culmination of my training and experience, I will never be able to determine how you feel inside. Only you can be the expert of you. Only you know how you feel physically and emotionally through careful attunement to your own inner world.

DEVELOP CURIOUS COMPASSION

Let go of the guilt, shame, and judgement once and for all. Be gentle with yourself as you learn to nourish your mind, body, and soul from a completely new perspective. Get curious about new ways of thinking, being, and discovering. Be compassionate with yourself as you experiment with new inner sensations, feelings, thoughts, and behaviors.

After meeting at The Runaway Fork’s office on Elm Street, we walk together to nearby Mindowaskin Park to stroll the paved sidewalks while we talk. You set the pace of walking, resting, or stopping at any time on the park benches. At any point, we can return to the office for any reason.
